Dr. Colleen Wynn is an Associate Professor and Chair of Sociology at the University of Indianapolis. She is the co-director two interdisciplinary programs at UIndy, the Race & Ethnic Studies minor and the Environmental Sustainability program (offering a major, minor, and concentration). Dr. Wynn is also the Co-Director for the Community Research Center (CRC) housed in the Department of Sociology at the University of Indianapolis.
Dr. Wynn is the 2025 recipient of the John F. Schnabel Distinguished Contributions to Teaching Award from the North Central Sociological Association (NCSA).
Originally from Louisville, KY, she holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University at Albany, SUNY, and a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Western Kentucky University.
Her research interests include urban sociology, families and households, demography, and housing. Her teaching interests include introductory sociology, research methods, urban sociology, family sociology, and demography.
